About us

The Groupement des Compliance Officers de Suisse Romande et du Tessin is a non-profit association founded in 2003 with its headquarters in Geneva. It has about 250 members.

The purpose of the Association is to bring together Compliance Officers - and in general all persons with a Compliance responsibility - active in the financial sector in French-speaking Switzerland and in Ticino, in order to ensure the professional and academic development of the Compliance function.

It proposes to contribute to the exchange of opinions, experiences and information, to the development of the Compliance function, to the creation of Compliance reference systems as well as to the training of its members, through regular meetings, mainly through active participation in one of the Working Groups, as well as through the organization of conferences and debates related to Compliance and deontology issues.

It also intends to establish and develop contacts with Swiss and foreign associations having a similar object.

The activities of the Association are in principle reserved to those members whose active participation in the working group is expected.

As a rule, an annual one-day conference is held in the autumn and a spring conference is held at the end of the day. The General Assembly is held once a year.

The Board of Directors consists of at least 4 members, including the President and the Treasurer.

They meet as often as required by the management of the Association, in principle on a monthly basis but at least 9 times a year.

The 7 Working Groups constituting the GCO are the following:

1. Evolution of the legal, regulatory and deontological framework

2. Fight against money laundering, corruption and financing of terrorism

3. Asset management and securities trading

4. Documentation and non-banking financial intermediaries

5. Ticino

6. Commodity trading and commercial banking

7. Retail banking
